Inspiration
 
Not many people have heard of a pangolin and even fewer know what they look like. Despite this they are the most trafficked animal in the world. This piece was inspired by the amazing people working tirelessly to turn the tide on this tragic statistic.
 
As with most conservation issues, humans are both the direct root of the problem and, often, also the only hope. The fragile relationship we have with nature is in the balance and we need to fight to keep this in check. I tried to capture this idea in this piece, leaving the viewer to explore the ambiguity of the human connection, friend or foe. Either way, we are having an impact and hopefully through art and awareness we can start tipping the scales in the direction of friend.
