Leopards have always been my favourite animal, so when I had the opportunity to visit Londolozi, world renowned for its leopards, I was in heaven. The reference for this image comes from an afternoon spent with the Maxabene female and her two sons, Makhotini and Tu-Tones males.
Although almost independent, their mother was still providing for the males. The reference for this piece came from the Makhotini male watching his mother approach across a clearing. However, the viewer is invited to imagine an endless number of possibilities as to what has caught the young males’ attention as he gazes off into the distance.
The original is still up for grabs so, if interested, please get in touch via the contact page! As with all my works, 30% of the profits from the original artwork, as well as, the 150 limited edition prints will go to African Parks to fund vital conservation work on the continent.
